FAM competition committee chairman Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said that they had to limit the number of transfers due to several reasons.
“The M-League doesn’t have a big pool of players so we have opted to limit the transfer to three local players. In addition, we also felt that too many transfers will disrupt a team.
“However, players are not allowed to buy out their contract during the second transfer window and the team must agree terms before a player could move to a new team.”
Hamidin added that the players who wish to sign for a new team needs get the release from their original team and the move can be permanent or on loan.
“The committee had decided to open up the transfer of local player for three players for the period 2013 -2016 but if needed we might increase it in the future,” said Hamidin at a press conference after the committee meeting at Wisma FAM yesterday.
Hamidin also revealed that the Malaysia Cup play-off would be held on July 10 and the annual Malaysia–Singapore friendlies will be held on June 4 in Klang Valley and the return leg on June 7 in Singapore.
