Thyagarajan, the archery technical chairman of Klang District Schools Sports Council (MSSDK), said they had started a training programme for the archers preparing for next season’s Selangor Schools Sports Council (MSSS) championship.
“We certainly welcome Anbarasi to share her experience with these young archers. Being a qualified coach, she is interacting well with the juniors,’’ said Thyagarajan.
During the stint, Anbarasi displayed the various skills involved in archery. The students showed a lot of enthusiasm and asked questions.
Anbarasi said she was impressed with the junior archers’ skills.
“They have the basic skills. But they need to practise regularly to hone their skills. I will come regularly to spend time with them. I would like to see them excel in their competitions,’’ said Anbarasi.
UFL managing director Datuk V. Radhakrishnan said they were pleased to have Anbarasi on board.
“National sportsmen and sportswomen should be given every opportunity to pursue their careers in business. UFL has been actively involved in the promotion of archery and we are also a distributor of archery equipment.
“So we felt Anbarasi would be an ideal person to be with us,’’ said Radhakrishnan.
UFL has also set up an exhibition centre at their headquarters in Kepong Industrial Park. Anbarasi will be available to assist budding archers at the centre.
Anbarasi will also be attending the Archery Trade Association trade show in Nashville, Tennessee, United States in January.
“It will be a golden opportunity for me to learn more about the archery business. I am grateful to UFL for giving me the chance to attend the trade show in the United States,’’ she added.
