Both the boys and girls’ teams defeated their opponents in straight sets to finish with a maximum nine points, thereby winning the silverware with sheer domination.
The carnival, which was held at SJK(C) Puay Chai 2, saw the participation of four schools — SJK(C) Damansara, SK Bandar Baru Sri Damansara 2, SK Seksyen 6, Kota Damansara and the home team, with each school represented by two teams that battled it out in a round-robin format.
The Puay Chai 2 girls’ team dominated their match with SK Bandar Baru Sri Damansara 2, winning 11-0, 11-4.
They continued to be in top form with an 11-8, 11-7 win over SJK(C) Damansara.
The team, however, encountered a hiccup when facing SK Seksyen 6 when they tied 10-10, followed by 12-12.
But with several good serves and returns, Puay Chai girls proved too strong for their opponents and went on to wrap up the match 13-12, 11-3.
Petaling Utama Volleyball technical chairman Khaw Choon Siong said he was satisfied with the teams’ performances.
“Both teams performed equally well and they used good tactics that they learnt during training, which was very good.
“I hope that they will continue to perform better in Katmo at state level,” said Khaw.
Also present at the event were the school’s senior assistant Low Sau Kin and Selangor Schools Sports Council (MSSS) technical chairman Chong Kok Hiang.
