There was also an “inside and outside” lucky draw offering two-day/ one-night stays at First World Hotel in Genting Highlands, mountain and folding bicycles, bicycle equipment and other mystery prizes.
Tukiman said four local councils —MDHS, Shah Alam City Council, Subang Jaya Municipal Council and Kuala Langat District Council each sent a team for the event.
“The Selangor Cycling Association served as our organising partner for this year, while the Hulu Selangor Recreational Association helped with manpower and technical support.
Tukiman said Kuala Kubu Baru (KKB) is popular among city dwellers who would pass through the town for a weekend ride via bicycles or motorcycles, or a convoy of cars.
“KKB will be featured in next year’s Le Tour de Langkawi as one of the stops during one leg of the race,” he said.
“In conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2014, we are also planning to organise Fun Ride to Genting on a bigger scale.
“We will be working with Tourism Selangor to get more participants, especially those from foreign countries, and offer better prizes.”
