Danial gave notice of his record-breaking intention when he ran 11.92 in the semi-finals as Shahrul also dipped under the old record in 11.79.
"I'm so happy. I did not expect to run so fast," said the shy Danial, who hails from Kuala Lipis and had never run under 12 seconds before.
The day's first record also came in the Under-15 category when Penang's J. Pavithraa Devi won the javelin with a 36.70m throw while Selangor's Savinder Kaur renewed the girls' Under-18 800m with a time of 2:15.97s to erase Nik Norzilawati Nik Wil's mark of 2:15.97.
Kedah's Noor Shahidatun Nadia Zuki retained the girls' Under-18 triple jump gold medal in the first part of a double-double by rewriting her own meet record of 12.36m with a jump of 12.51m in her second attempt.
Hosts Pahang's first gold medal of the day was delivered by Chin Poh Kuan, who won the girls' Under-18 shot put with a 10.95m effort.
Azam Masri led a Malacca 1-2 finish in the boys' Under-18 100m final when he timed 10.87 seconds to Badrul Hisyam Abdul Manap's 10.91.
Kang Woan Yi did likewise for Perak in the girls' Under-18 100m when she bested teammate R. Kirthana, who was simultaneously competing in the triple jump, in 12.41s to the latter's 12.50.
