He won two bronze medals from the individual floor exercise and parallel bars events in the contest decided over four discipliness. The other two events were pommel horse and vault.
Klang’s Douglas Ng Hao Zhe, coached by former international Ng Shu Wai, emerged as the boys’ Under-12 individual all-round champion with a superior score of 68.967 points followed by Mohamed Hafiy (67.883 points) of Petaling Perdana while Anakin collected a total of 64.917 from the four events.
Mike said Douglas was a class above his peers.
“We were elated when Anakin surpassed our initial target of making it into the top six to confirm his place in the Selangor squad for MSSM. We were satisfied with his performance in the floor exercise. He displayed agility and control to deliver a clean routine,” he said.
Hasan emerged seventh overall with a total score of 57.500 points at the MSSS.
Meanwhile, Sri Kuala Lumpur pair of Zoe Tan Jiayi and Dena Ryzali, will be part of the Selangor side, joining the fray in the girls’ Under-12 contest at the upcoming MSSM.
Zoe finished third (27.400 points) overall ahead of Dena in fourth place (26.900 points) at the recent MSSS.
In the individual events, Zoe added two silver medals from the vault and uneven bars while Dena took home three bronzes (vault, balance beam and uneven bars) medals.
Floor exercise was the other discipline in the girls’ Under-12 category.
Klang’s Khaliesah Zaiful Azian and Jocelyn Ng Jie Ee completed a one-two finish in the girls’ Under-12 standings with score of 34.800 points and 30.450 points respectively at the MSSS.
