Although Belia Selangor had a big share of the match, it was PNSB who scored. In the seventh minute, PNSB were awarded a freekick and Azhari Hamzah made no mistake. Trailing by a goal, Belia Selangor, one of the three unbeaten teams in the group, stepped up their attacking game.
Their strikers gave a tough time to the PNSB defence. But Belia Selangor had to wait until the 19th minute for the equaliser. Hardworking V. Sasikumar scored from close range to make it 1-1.
After the breather, it was an exciting battle to watch as both sides were looking forward to increase their goal tally.
Unfortunately, the elusive goal for both sides did not materialise.
Adam said the match was an interesting one and their players had an intense opponent in PNSB.
“PNSB are considered as one of the most consistent sides in the league. They also have some experienced players.
“Our players are all aged below 19. I am sure our players had gained valuable exposure from this match.
“Playing against tougher and senior players will certainly make them wiser,” added Adam.
PNSB manager Suhaimi Selamat said it was a match they should have won.
“We had ample openings but our strikers failed to make them count. We will face a tough time making the semi-finals,” said Suhaimi.
Following the draw, Belia Selangor have 11 points from three wins and two draws while PNSB, having played seven matches, also have 11 points from three wins, two draws and two defeats.
Port Rangers are leading the table with 14 points from six outings while Kuala Langat District Football Associa-tion are second on 12 points.
Adam said they have to collect maximum points from their remaining three matches to be certain of a place in the top two.
“Port Rangers and Kuala Langat District Football Association are also in the race. But we have faith in our players’ abilities,” added Adam.
