The older beach area is shallow and not so conducive for this activitity. The Federal Government allocated RM6mil to develop its beachfront and the Kuala Langat District Council has greatly improved the public facilities here.
The area is slowly but steadily developing, with the increase in the number of academic and training institutes.
It now also has a residential school, Sekolah Menengah Sains Banting, a matriculation centre and a polytechnic.
Several training centres, such as the National Youth Skills Training Institute, Industrial Training Institute and a community college, are also found here. The small-and-medium scale industries producing tapioca and banana chips are thriving here.
